This year we are planning a series of webinars and are busy putting the finishing touches to organising our first, which explores the experience of Palestinians on social media who are all too often censored for their posts.
We are delighted to announce our two guest speakers, Nadim Nashif and Mona Shtaya, both of 7amleh – The Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media
Nadim Nashif is a social entrepreneur and digital rights defender. He is also the founder and executive director of 7amleh – the Palestinian digital rights organization, Nadim is also a senior policy analyst for Al-Shabaka: The Palestinian Policy Network. For the past 20 years, he has worked on community development issues.
Mona Shtaya is a Palestinian digital rights defender working in the MENA region. She is working as Advocacy Advisor at 7amleh, and a non- resident scholar for the Middle East Institute (MEI). Mona is getting an MA in Social Media and Digital Communication at the University of Westminster. Mona previously worked as the community outreach specialist at Transparency Palestine, the national chapter of Transparency International.
