Galilee Foundation supports Online Employability Training for Palestinian Women through Challenge to Change

In 2025, the Galilee Foundation supported Switzerland-registered Challenge to Change for their “SheCodes” Initiative, a comprehensive online training programme supporting Palestinian women aged between 17 and 40 and based in Egypt, Lebanon, the West Bank and Gaza. Through this project, women learned key technical and remote work skills relating to Digital Marketing, Graphic Design and Virtual Assistant work, enabling them to find work and earn an income to support their families.

The project enabled training for 165 women, the majority of them Palestinian women residing in Gaza, alongside small numbers of Palestinian women in the West Bank and refugees in Lebanon and Egypt. 76% completed the entire course, which is all the more impressive given the external instability faced by so many of them. Graduation took place on 17th February 2026, and, based on approximate family sizes of 7 members per graduate, we believe that up to 1,155 people benefited indirectly from the project.

Through their final projects and real work with clients, participants demonstrated practical market readiness and the ability to generate income. Challenge to Change’s participants have not only acquired the skills needed to find meaningful work and generate income, but many of them have already found such employment.

“After losing my husband, I didn’t know how I would support my family. This course gave me skills, confidence, and a real chance to earn an income during the most difficult time of our lives.”

We are inspired by the determination of the participants in spite of the many challenges they face and the turbulent context in which they are living, and wish them all the very best for the future.
